El Condor Pasa的原版據(jù)傳是基于秘魯自由戰(zhàn)士Tupac Amaro的故事。1780年，他在領(lǐng)導(dǎo)一場(chǎng)反抗西班牙人的起義中被害，死后變成一只Condor，永遠(yuǎn)翱翔于安第斯山上。秘魯人民暨此體現(xiàn)對(duì)自由的追求不息，而歌名的直譯就是"雄鷹在飛"。
